Painted in June 2021 on a dullish day. I was Dashing in and out of the van between rainstorms to paint this. Monty Dog watched from inside, full of Kibble and Sausage Rolls.
Painted from life, this piece holds the sensation of a moment that was there and then gone. Light is the real subject here—its direction, softness, and the way it changes the mood of everything it touches.
It’s about atmosphere more than detail—how the place felt, not just how it looked. The composition was chosen to emphasise depth and direction, letting the eye travel naturally through the scene.
