Drawings
Drawing forms the foundation of my practice. These works are developed directly from life, through careful observation and a sustained engagement with the subject.

Working primarily in charcoal, I am interested in building and reducing tone — allowing the image to emerge gradually rather than being defined by line. The process is both disciplined and responsive, requiring a balance between control and openness.

While distinct from my paintings, these drawings underpin everything I do, offering a more immediate and intimate expression of form, light and presence.
