Do you have a studio?

Yes — I work from a studio at Stamford Arts Centre in Lincolnshire.

It is a north-facing space that allows me to paint consistently from life, whether working on portraits, landscapes, or larger studio pieces. It is also where I teach and where much of my work develops over time.

Visitors are very welcome by appointment. Please get in contact to book your visit.

Where can I see your paintings?

While many works are available online, I would always encourage seeing paintings in person where possible.

I exhibit regularly with galleries including Thompson’s Galleries and at exhibitions held at venues such as the Mall Galleries in London. These exhibitions allow you to experience the scale, surface and presence of the work directly.

Studio visits can also be arranged. For updates on exhibitions and available paintings, you may wish to join my mailing list.

Do you accept commissions?

I do accept a limited number of portrait and landscape commissions each year. You can view examples of the commissions I’ve created on my commissions page.

Each commission begins with a conversation to establish the subject and intention of the work. Wherever possible, paintings are developed from life, maintaining the same approach as my exhibited work.

If you are considering a commission, you are very welcome to get in touch.

Do you teach drawing and painting?

Yes — teaching forms an important part of my practice.

Through Stamford School of Art, I offer group classes and private tuition, focusing on drawing and painting from life. The teaching is grounded in observation — learning to see structure, tone and colour clearly — and is suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists.

Classes are held at Stamford Arts Centre.

Do you offer online teaching or mentoring?

Yes — I offer one-to-one mentoring sessions online for those who are unable to attend in person. Book here.

These sessions are designed to support artists in developing their work, whether through drawing, painting, or gaining clarity in their practice. They are not structured as formal lessons, but as focused conversations and guidance tailored to the individual.

What happens in an online mentoring session?

Each session is shaped around your work and your questions.

You may wish to share recent drawings or paintings in advance, which we can discuss during the session. From there, I offer practical guidance on areas such as structure, tone, composition and direction.

The aim is to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Who are the mentoring sessions for?

The sessions are suitable for:

  • artists developing their practice

  • those returning to drawing or painting

  • students preparing portfolios or exhibitions

  • painters looking for guidance or direction

Whether you are at an early stage or more experienced, the focus is always on developing a stronger understanding of your work.

How do I book an online mentoring session?

If you are interested in arranging a session, you are welcome to get in touch.

Once we have agreed a suitable time, sessions are held via Zoom. Further details will be provided in advance, including how to share your work beforehand if needed. Find out more about online sessions here.

Are your paintings shipped safely?

Yes — all paintings are carefully packed, insured, and shipped using trusted couriers.

Where possible, packaging is kept minimal and recyclable. You will receive full tracking details once your work has been dispatched.
