London Paintings

London has long been a source of inspiration for my work. Its vast scale, shifting light, and extraordinary variety of architecture offer endless possibilities for painting from life.

Many of these works were created on location across the city, from the open viewpoints of Primrose Hill to the historic surroundings of the Royal Courts of Justice and the busy rhythm of the Thames. Painting directly from observation allows the atmosphere and immediacy of the moment to become embedded in the paint.

Below is a selection of London paintings created over a number of visits to the city. You can also search the archives for more London paintings from across the capital.

You may also enjoy exploring my London paintings, Brighton paintings, and York paintings, all created directly from life.
