Madison and 56th

£2,500.00

In 2023 I visited New York City on a family holiday. I packed my paints of course, and headed out on occasion to see what I could find to paint. In all honesty, I found Manhatten quite overwhelming, and it shows in the paintings I produced, such as this one of Madison and 56th. There’s everything I love and hate about New York, including the homeless. Looking back, I perhaps could have ventured further afield to find those quitter districts, such as Brooklyn and the Bronx. Then again, it’s always the case that something better is possibly around the corner. I’ve learned to let that feeling go. What really matters is that you’re anywhere and painting.

Each piece is created from life — a real place and time where I breath in what I perceive and attempt to show you, the viewer, what I see and how it makes me feel. My artistoc journey has led me to direct observation from life. An objective and subjective truth I can share.

I’m very fortunate to be increasingly receiving commissions for paintings from all over the world. It is a tremendous honor to be employed in such a way, and it is very much appreciated. Without the trust and generosity of patrons, many artists simply wouldn’t be working, including me.
