Cromer Pier from the beach. Having arrived in Cromer early in the morning, it wasn’t until the middle of the afternoon that I ventured down to the beach. I’d been preoccupied with opportunities to paint the different levels from the top of town. On the beach, I was limited as to what I could paint as the sea defences were being improved and I didn’t really think that a painting of excavators moving huge boulders would make a good painting. Instead, I found an alternative view of the Pier, which included the birds feeding on the dug up worms and other creatures. It was a nice spot. I could hear viewers commenting on my painting from the Esplanade above me. Comments were generally very good. After this painting, I headed on to Cromer Pier itself, looking for further painting opportunities.
