I am very fortunate to receive a steady flow of commissions to add a little variety to my work and to keep me on my toes. My recent commission in Oxfordshire was a true collaboration between the artist and the client and an exceptional location in which to paint. This beautiful Oxfordshire home is a unique property whose design cleverly conceals its whereabouts amongst the Oxfordshire countryside. Upon arrival I received a grand tour from the owner and listened with great interest to the conception of the house and what a wonderful home it had become to the family.
I visited the site a number of times over the summer of 2022 to complete the painting and presented it to thrilled clients later in the year.

Homes, hotels, and historic buildings feature quite heavily as popular commissions for me and are always very welcome. I’m naturally drawn to the architecture within iconic cities such as London, Oxford and Cambridgeshire, where I seek out interesting skylines and unique buildings. Structure gives my paintings solidity, and the challenge of building form through tiles is simplified when painting buildings. In a way it’s a language I understand, which builds confidence.
One’s family home, holiday home, place of work, or historic building can evoke treasured memories for the viewer. By painting such subjects from life, a modern narrative puts it in the present tense as a significant building and also contrasts nicely with its rich history, to which the viewer is connected.

If you would like to enquire regarding commissioning a painting, please contact me in the first instance to discuss your ideas. The commissioning process is quite straightforward in that after an initial discussion regarding your commission, I provide a proposal for the work along with drawings and sketches if necessary. Should you wish to proceed with your painting, I ask for a 50% deposit at the start and then 50% at the end once your painting has been accepted.
