I’m pleased to announce that one of my latest landscape paintings is currently on display in Coast, a group exhibition now open at Thompson’s Gallery in London.
This exhibition brings together a wide selection of work from British painters whose practice is inspired by the coastline—its rhythm, atmosphere, and vast emotional range. The coast is a subject I return to often, not just for its natural drama but also for the peace and distance it offers. Working from life, I try to capture the truth of a moment as it unfolds—the play of light, movement of air, and the raw meeting point between land and sea.
Thompson’s Gallery has long been a champion of representational art, and I’m grateful to be showing work alongside such a strong group of artists who share a deep connection to the landscape. Exhibitions like Coast are important because they hold space for thoughtful, observational painting at a time when speed and digital output dominate so much of the visual world.
For me, painting outdoors or directly from life is a meditative experience. Whether it’s a quiet headland or a windswept beach, the coastal environment demands presence. You can’t force it—you have to respond.
The exhibition runs until April 27th at Thompson’s Gallery, London. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend stopping by to see the works in person.
